Springfield Demize Leap Forward into MLIS

The Springfield Demize announced today that they will be joining Major League Indoor Soccer for its inaugural 2022-2023 season, bringing elite indoor soccer to Springfield, Missouri.

The Demize were members of the Premier Arena Soccer League from 2006 through 2020, which includes two stints as a provisional team in the Professional Arena Soccer League from 2008-2010. Springfield's time in the PASL led to the team's Midwest Division championship run in 2019 which culminated in the team's undefeated run to the PASL National Championship in 2020. Following the national championship, the Demize joined the MASL 3rd division. The Demize captured M3's Midwest Division crown in 2022.

"Over the last 16 years we have had nothing but positive experiences in both the PASL and MASL and appreciate the opportunity to compete at some of the highest levels of arena and indoor soccer," stated Demize Director of Soccer Operations, Chris Hanlon. "This has allowed us to continue to develop players during the winter throughout Southwest Missouri. We currently have former Demize players playing on teams in the MASL like Rian Marques of the Kansas City Comets and Jaxn Rogers in the M2 with the New Mexico Runners, as well as having players in the USA5-6-7 national team player pool.

 "We are very excited to continue providing opportunities for our soccer community and our player pool to get exposed to the highest levels of indoor soccer as part of MLIS."

The Demize also unveiled a new look for 2022 with a reimagined team logo.

"During a meeting, Dr. Ahmadnia, the owner of Access Dental, Dentures & Implants and the team's title sponsor, asked me to take a look at the new Springfield City flag and see how we could better incorporate representation of our city into the Demize logo, while still having elements of the retro Demize logos," Hanlon said. "The end result was a mixture that combined elements of both, and we felt the announcement of joining MLIS would be a prefect time to unveil the team's new logo.”

The Demize would like to recognize key local support from the team's sponsors, Access Dental & Dentures, SpringGreen Lawncare, Esterly, Schneider & Associates, Fidelity and Brookline Doorworks.

The Springfield Demize will host tryouts November 12 and 13th at Lake Country Soccer.
