MLIS Playoff Format Explained

With Major League Indoor Soccer heading into the final three weeks of its first regular season we take a look ahead to the playoffs.

Each of the three division winners will get an automatic berth in the MLIS Final Four, which will be held in Chicago at Grand Sports Arena April 1-2, and will consist of two semifinal games on April 1, and a Championship game on April 2.

The two teams with the next best records will face off in a Wild Card game tentatively scheduled for the weekend of March 24-26. The winner of that game will advance to the Final Four.

Eight teams still have a chance to qualify for the MLIS playoffs, and all three divisional titles are still up for grabs.

"It has been fun to see rivalries develop amid a high level of competition," said MLIS Commissioner Dominic Turcotte. "Having three viable division races this late in the season is going to make for a great finish to our first regular season, and an open playoff field where any one of these teams are capable of going to Chicago and winning the championship."
